Diane provided valuable information for me in a complaint I filed with the City and County of Honolulu to appeal the 2023 property assessment valuation. I felt that the county's valuation was grossly overstated (37% over the prior year, during the covid-19 pandemic period) and filed an appeal in January 2023. I was able to obtain a lot of data and sales information from various public sources to arrive at my own property valuation to include in my initial filing to the City and County. However, there was one element in my analysis that bothered me, why did the County appraisers come up with such a large differential. I was suspicious about one property in particular that the appraisers used as a comparable in their analysis. At about that time period, Diane called to inquire about my plans for my property. I conveyed to her my appeal filing situation. Diane (even though I was not her client at the time) was gracious enough to offer to help and try to obtain further information on that property. She quickly followed up and provided me with additional information that proved invaluable in my preparation for a scheduled City and County Board of Review meeting on my appeal. Also, Diane, through her contacts in the industry, was able to obtain the names of those in charge of my appeal, including the appraiser. With the information, I telephoned the appraiser and conveyed my observations and concerns. I also discussed my concern about a possible discrepancy in the appraisal. My discussions with the appraiser resulted in a speedy resolution through a "Stipulation Agreement" and my having not to attend and make a presentation at the scheduled Board of Review meeting. Diane showed dedication to her clients (or in my case potential client). Her gracious offer to help, followed up by providing relevant information and contacts helped me immensely.
